Recognizing the enormous financial burden to those whose incomes are being adversely impacted by COVID-19, the League of Chicago Theatres has developed a Chicago Theatre Workers Relief Fund with enormous gratitude to The Saints for their generous seed grant as well as more than 600 donors who have contributed to the fund. This Fund is intended to help replace lost income due to theatre closures. The Fund has been expanded and is now open to all those who have been unable to find work, and those who have had to stop work and are no longer getting paid, including those who were on contract, part time or full-time employees, those working on a stipend which was not paid, and those who were furloughed.
Chicago area theatre professionals may apply for a grant of up to $500 on a first come first served basis. Due to high demand for the relief fund, individuals may only apply for and receive a grant one time. Individuals that have already received a grant are not eligible to re-apply.
